HOA Reform Nevada

A nonpartisan coalition promoting fair, transparent HOA governance in Nevada communities.

About HOA Reform NV

A community-driven initiative working to promote fair and transparent HOA governance across Nevada.

Our History

Founded in 2020 by a group of Henderson homeowners who experienced firsthand the challenges of unfair HOA practices, HOA Reform NV has grown into a statewide coalition of advocates dedicated to creating positive change in HOA governance.

Our Values

We believe in transparency, fairness, community engagement, and responsible governance. Our work is guided by the principle that HOAs should serve homeowners, not the other way around.

Our Approach

We combine grassroots advocacy, homeowner education, and legislative engagement to promote meaningful reform. We work collaboratively with homeowners, HOA board members, and lawmakers to find balanced solutions.

Homeowner Stories

Real experiences from Nevada homeowners that illustrate why HOA reform matters.

Profile

Sarah from Henderson

Resident since 2015

"After receiving a $500 fine for a mailbox that was 'the wrong shade of brown,' I discovered our HOA had been enforcing rules that weren't in our CC&Rs. Through HOA Reform NV's resources, I successfully challenged the fine and went on to join my HOA board to help prevent similar issues for my neighbors."

Profile

Michael from Summerlin

Resident since 2010

"Our HOA raised monthly dues by 40% with minimal notice or explanation. Working with HOA Reform NV, our neighborhood organized and successfully demanded greater transparency. Now, our board publishes detailed financial reports and holds open budget meetings before any fee increases."

Profile

Elena from North Las Vegas

Resident since 2018

"When our board tried to ban solar panels despite Nevada's solar access laws, I reached out to HOA Reform NV for help. They connected me with resources and other homeowners facing similar issues. Together, we educated our board about state law, and now our community has clear, legal guidelines for solar installation."

Legislative Advocacy

We work to promote fair HOA legislation and oppose bills that would harm homeowners' rights.

Opposing Senate Bill 433

Why We Oppose SB 433

  • Reduces homeowner voting rights on critical community decisions
  • Allows boards to increase fees without adequate homeowner input
  • Weakens disclosure requirements for financial records
  • Extends time periods for addressing homeowner complaints
  • Expands board authority without corresponding accountability measures
